Program Branding

Established in 2006, the Sports Medicine Center for Young Athletes was the region’s pioneering sports medicine program focused solely on athletes age 5 to 25. Its rapid service expansion was imperative to meet the swift rise in youth sports participation.

Strategy.

Establish the brand as the region’s premier sports medicine center for young athletes.

Goal.

Exponentially build on the brand equity to create sought-after products such as exercise classes catered to diverse fitness needs, engaging student symposiums that foster knowledge exchange, and exclusive professional conferences designed to inspire and empower industry leaders.

Results.

Patients served increased on average 12% annually.

New programs were implemented, such as Dance Medicine and Nutrition.

The number of clubs, tournaments and schools covered by an athletic trainer from the center grew 10% every year.

The Design Package.

  • I determined color palette that harmonized with the corporate brand.

  • I created a library of images of diverse, confident athletes from ages 5 to 25.

  • I developed value-added items such as resources on nutrition, lecture handouts, and branded physical therapy tools.

  • I edited 30- and one-minute video shorts to advertise service offerings.

  • I designed multiple advertisements including the University of California, Berkeley athletics website and magazine and game day graphics.

  • I ordered professional-looking uniforms and medical bags for the athletic trainers.
